Thanks for visiting my Blog
Here you will be able to check out some of my Photo Shoots, Crochet Projects, and my crazy family.
I am the owner of Aunt B's Photography located just minutes from Downtown Henderson Ky. I was born and raised in Henderson and have lived here all of my life with one year to Rockport IN. I love my town and have lots of memories here with family and friends.
Why did you choose the name Aunt B's? Well my brother FINALLY made me an Aunt 3 years ago and he looked at me and said. " Your Aunt B and you have to make me a Bean Pie." Needless to say he got his Bean Pie and it was pretty awesome if I must say so myself :) I am Aunt B to many nieces, nephews, my cousin's children, friends children, and clients.
I have always loved pictures but I never realized just how much till my Papaw died a few years back. After his passing they gathered pictures to do a video for his funeral. Out of 30 years of my life there was only one photo of my Papaw and me. This man I loved so much and spent so much time with only one? Really? So I bought a cheap Kodak camera on Ebay because I was going to make sure I had plenty of pictures of my family! I didn't want to forget what my kids looked like. I wanted those pictures so that my kids could make fun of my husband and me like I did when I got older. (My dad had the hugest afro! aaaahhhh the 70's)
A few years after his passing I was invited to my cousin's little girls birthday party. I brought my little Kodak Camera I bought off of Ebay and just snapped pictures. When I got home and loaded theses pictures. I couldn't believe it I looked and was just like WOW I took these! I posted the pictures on Facebook for my family to see. My cousin asked me,"What kind of camera do you have?" I replied back kind of like. "UUUUmmmmm A Kodak?" I didn't know one thing about a camera how it works, what aperture settings to use, and what the heck is an ISO? At the time I was working at a retail chain store as an Assistant Store Manager hating my job because it kept me from the important things in life my family. I had to fight for days off, was at work till 10 at night, and weekends what are those? I was miserable and felt like I was stuck! So one night I sat down and started to Google Photography. I was amazed at the things you could do with pictures and you could do this with just a camera! It has since then become my drug, I wake up everyday wanting to take pictures. Wanting to practice what to me isn't just a picture I have taken it's my art.
A few months later the last straw hit with my Manager and I quit my job, started school to learn more because I was hungry to get all the knowledge I could soak in about photography. I have one more project and I will graduate from Penn Foster as a Certified Photographer. I don't know what I would do without it. I took it in, fell in love, and now it's part of me. It falls in step with the beat of my heart. Yeah I know mushy and corny.
The crazy thing is I never understood why I was the way I was, my Daddy always said I was corny, emotional, and sensitive. Who would have thought it was because I had an artistic personality! It started with Photography bringing out my creativity. Now I sew, crochet, and do crafts never in my wildest dream would I have imagined being a photographer and a stay at home mom would be what I wanted to do in life. "Well!"
So here I am typing up my first blog, telling everyone, " My name is Brandi Myers, I am a Professional Photographer in Henderson Ky, I am the owner of Aunt B's Photography, I am a woman who is in love with what I do, and I want you to love the pictures of your family. When you walk into my Studio I want you to feel just like you walked into your Aunt B's feeling welcomed, at ease, and at home. I hope I get the chance to capture memory's of your beautiful family that can be passed down many generations.
